There are 2.5 billion gamers worldwide &#8211; 143 million live in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, gamers spent a total of $100 billion video games worldwide &#8211; $30.4 billion was spent in the United States alone.<\/p>\n<p><center><\/center><\/p>\n<div class=\"featured-snippet\" style=\"background-color: #f1f1f2; padding: 30px;\">\n<div style=\"background-color: #ffffff; padding: 20px; max-width: 95%; margin-bottom: 20px; border: 2px solid #0095d6;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"max-height: 47px; float: left; padding: 0 12px 0 0;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3playmedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/3pm-logo-blue.png\" alt=\"3Play Media logo\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">CVAA Requirements for Video Games<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The communication functionality and user interface to operate those elements must be accessible to people with sight, motor, speech, cognitive, and hearing disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Games released and developed after December 31, 2018 &#8211; including those that were already in development before that date &#8211; must be fully compliant. If a game released before December 31, 2018 is updated, then it should also be made compliant with the CVAA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>What Are the <span style=\"color: 0095d6;\">Requirements<\/span> for Video Games?<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3playmedia.com\/blog\/cvaa-compliance\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.3playmedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/cvaa-readcta.png\" alt=\"what is the cvaa? read the blog\" width=\"300\" align=\"right\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe CVAA &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/333745\/CVAA_accessibility_rules_come_into_effect_for_games_as_FCC_waiver_expires.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">requires that communications functionality, like in-game chat, and the UI used to navigate and operate those elements must be accessible to people<\/a>&#8221; with a wide variety of disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Video games must adhere to the performance objectives outlined in <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.fcc.gov\/public\/attachments\/FCC-11-151A1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">section 14.21<\/a>. The FCC will then work with the company to come up with a fix.
